Our Learn to Skate Program is sure to be your youngster’s favorite weekly activity!
Our Learn to Skate program has classes for true beginners or those with a bit of experience under their belt. Our classes are designed simultaneously with fun at the forefront and around the fundamental skating skills your child will need to move into ice hockey or figure skating.
The Learn to Skate program is split into Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced levels. All Learn to Skate classes are at Johnny’s Icehouse WEST (2550 W. Madison), and held in the Annex training rink, located at the west end of the facility. Classes are 40 minutes long and take place weekly. You can choose from the following times.
Tuesday
4:00pm Learn to Skate 1: Beginner
4:50pm Learn to Skate 2: Intermediate / Advanced
Thursday
4:00pm Learn to Skate 1: Beginner
4:50pm Learn to Skate 2: Intermediate / Advanced
Saturday
12:00pm Learn to Skate 1: Beginner
12:50pm Learn to Skate 2: Intermediate / Advanced
Sunday
12:00pm Learn to Skate 1: Beginner
12:50pm Learn to Skate 2: Intermediate / Advanced
Fall classes will start on Tuesday, September 2nd - Sunday, September 7th, and conclude on Tuesday, December 16th - Sunday, December 21st. Programming will pause the week of November 25th-30th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
For late registrations, the fee will automatically prorate at checkout so you’re not paying for past classes.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
Where are classes held? All classes are held in the Annex Studio Rink at Johnny’s West (2550 W Madison St.).
What is the parking situation? Families may use our garage parking and the Annex rink is accessible directly from the parking garage, at the far end from the garage entrance. Free street parking on Madison is also an option, if the garage is full.
What equipment is required? Helmets are required for children under the age of 18. Bike or ski helmets work great! Skates are not required for Icicle Club. Both child and adult may step onto the ice in street shoes. Layered clothing and gloves/mittens are highly recommended! Johnny’s does not loan or rent equipment.
Who is allowed on the ice? Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while on the ice.
What is your policy on refunds/make-up classes? Registration fees are non-refundable and there are no make-up days for classes you do not attend.

No Refunds or Credit Transfers
At Johnny's Icehouse, we are committed to providing a high-quality experience for all participants in our Grassroots and Adult programs, including Learn to Skate (1 and 2), Jr. Jets Program (1 and 2), Icicle Club, and Adult Hockey 101 - 103.
All registrations are final, and no refunds or credit transfers will be issued including missed classes, scheduling conflicts, or withdrawal from the program.
